"so what did you do in the Marine Corps?..."

I'm never sure how to answer this question properly, without sounding arrogant. It really bothers me when people make fantastic claims about their accomplishments, which I find that service members do a lot. So to avoid ever being lumped in with those individuals, I lean to the extreme other end of the spectrum. If asked, I generally tell people that I played an infantry support role, and I give few details even when pressed. Reconnaissance is supposed to gather information to support infantry operations, so I think it's fine to leave it at that.
But to be fair to myself, I did alot more than that. Rather than go on and on about it, I've posted a link to an article (the title of this post is the link) that a Marine Corps public affairs officer did on my platoon. Hopefully you find it interesting.
