I've been a little sick

Last Wednesday, at about 2 am, while creating lists of incoming students and buying last minute tickets, my throat started feeling a bit sore. No big deal, getting sick is a minor inconvenience, and i'm rarely sick, so I shouldn't complain.
Thursday morning I don't even notice my sore throat. At 7 am I have 4 delicious breakfast sandwiches from a cafe next to the gate. That was the last thing I had eaten until a small bowl of cereal I had today. Thats the Longest I've gone without food since SERE. 7:30 I fly to Bangkok and do my logistics thing.
At about 10, while I'm transferring student allowances into the books for the new week, I start getting chills. I've never had "chills" before, and wouldn't know to call them that, but that must be what people are talking about when they say chills. I'm also feeling a little out of it, zoning out alot. Shortly after the chills began, I started gagging as if my body wanted to vomit, but strangely, it wasn't accompanied by any nausea, as far as I can remember.
At this point, i'm getting pretty worried. I have a lot of important things to do at the airport on thursdays, this is not the time for me to not be mentally present. As students that were specifically my responsibility started coming in, my symptoms started fading away, or maybe I just forgot about them.
The next few hours at the airport didn't go very smoothly for many reasons, but nothing to do with me feeling ill.

Once we were finally on the plane back to Udon Thani, It really started to hit me. I rested my head on the tray table thinking I could recover a little from the brutal sleep deficit i'm working on, but wasn't able to fall asleep. My head was swimming. I was feeling really feverish and my lower back and legs started to ache badly. Great, I thought, this definitely sounds like the onset of Dengue as described during our staff training.
When we got back, I had to participate in new student orientation and get briefed for the weekend excursion to Laos that I was going to staff. I did what I had to do, and even thought I was feeling a little better during the talk with the students going on the Laos excursion. (though at this point I did have a 103 degree fever, and the medical officer at the base said the lower back pain could possibly indicate a kidney infection.)
Thursday nights sleep was one of the most uncomfortable things i've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure I wasn't sleeping, but I know I wasn't exactly conscious either.
Friday morning I was awakened by my roommate paul who offered to go to Laos for me. I'm glad he did, because I wasn't going, and there was no way I was going to get up and find someone to replace me. I had actually asked Paul if he would replace me on thursday evening, but he declined then. At this point, I still had a fever of 103, but I wasn't feeling so out of it.
I've slept since friday moring untill about 8 am saturday, waking only to get a cup of water 2 or 3 times. My temperature is normal now, i'm feeling a little woozy still, but probably just from dehydration and not eating.

Get medical attention! Find some Pedialyte or the Thai equivalent to replace the electrolytes you've lost. We're worried about you.

But we're glad your fever has broken.
